Daddy's Boots

I bought this for my husband to read to our daughter before he deployed to help her understand what was happening. It is very touching. My 2 year old can sit through the whole book and points to the pictures. She knows the boots and she knows what the mean. Sometimes just talking about it isn’t enough. Small children need something that they can see and touch to really know and understand that mom or dad or going away for some time.

This book is very colorful, well illustrated, the print is easy for a child to read. It makes a great companion to Momma’s Boots by the same author. I enjoyed the thoughtful presentation of the service our troops provide.

For Month of the Military child in April. We sent a package to all the littles of the service members in my husbands military unit. These books were a big hit and I found it to be perfect for our small son who is starting to miss daddy every time he goes away. I also loved the graphics in the book. Very well written and would highly recommend this book to anyone with a child who has a parent serving. This would also make a great gift. Thank you!

Engaged in two wars and various police actions our military and their families are under more stress at this time than ever before. Ms. Linhart’s book provides a means for young family members to understand, to cope, with the separation of their family for extended periods of time. Difficult enough for the spouse left behind for children often traumatic. In this short book she has provided a voice to young children, providing them with a first step at least in dealing with separation. Deployment and military are one word, regardless of branch of service separation will occur, how it is dealt with determines much and Ms. Linhart has taken three giant steps toward helping children and parents understand.

Excellent resource for parents and caregivers of younger children whose daddies are deployed around the world in the American military. Bright, colorful illustrations and bold print make this a an easy book for older siblings to share with little brothers and sisters. Daddy’s Boots can also help younger children sort through some of the confusing and scary emotions tied to daddy’s absence due to his military obligations.
